With council elections being held this week, Protect Old Dalby wrote to all candidates standing to seek their views on the proposed industrial anaerobic digester, so the village community can make informed voting decisions on the most important issue facing us.
With the application likely to be submitted this year, we felt it was of vital importance to our community that we knew where candidates stood on this issue before casting their vote this Thursday. We would like to extend our thanks to the candidates who responded to our request and are pleased to summarise their positions:
Against the Proposed AD development
Steve Carter - Independent
Martyn Gower -The Green Party
Joe Orson - The Conservative Party.
Malcolm Smith - Alliance for Democracy and Freedom
No comment received to Proposed AD development
Jim Clarke - Labour Party
James Donovan - Reform UK
Alan Rodenby - Liberal Democrats
Protect Old Dalby would still like to hear from the candidates who declined to comment prior to the election and would be happy to publish any updates.
Please visit our new latest update tab for information on the views of candidates ahead of our local election on 1st May 2025
